Watchers

So for us Non-US-citizens there is no (relatively easy) way to use Kickstarter for our own crowdfunding projects (US bank account and US citizenship is a requirement). As much as I like to rant about that - and the possible reasons - I can't change it, so it's not worth my time to get mad.

There are of course other popular platforms like IndieGoGo or Rockethub for international crowdfunding, but the fact that Kickstarter is already a dinosaur in this pretty young field worries me a bit.

How do you feel about this? Assuming there was a product you'd like to buy or a project you'd like to support, would using a different platform scare you off and why?

Daniel Ritthanondh
Artist | Professional | Traditional Art
Germany
Born 1986 in Germany Daniel Ritthanondh, aka “Kilh”, spent most of his life fiddling around with all kinds of artsy stuff, from making bad music, experimental video art, traditional painting and digital sculpting to traditional sculpting, which he decided shall be his profession for the rest of his life.

Other hobbies include, but are not limited to, photography, writing haikus and cooking.

Besides the fact that he’s writing about himself in third person right now he’s said to be pretty shy, tries avoid any kind of daylight and often locks himself in his studio for days with a block of wax and dangerously sharp tools.

Rumors state that Daniel perfers sculpting small scale things and is obsessed with tiny detail work eventhough they warned him in art school not to ruin his eyes with that. In 2007 he started sculpting commerically, usually private commissions, and seems to be successful so far as he doesn’t show any typical signs of starvation.

Though there’s no final evidence, experts assume that he spends his free time with cheap zombie flicks, old black&white movies and his guitar.
